Steve’s patent practice covers a range of technologies focusing mainly in the field of electronics, software and engineering.

Steve graduated from Imperial College London with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Steve started his career with the MOD, then spent over 7 years at Philips before moving into private practice, joining Bryers in 2024.

In recent years, Steve has conducted over 200 hearings before the EPO for blue chip clients, having developed a niche dealing with problematic cases picked up at Summons stage and prosecute to a conclusion (including through Appeal).

Steve has been particularly active in RF, GPS, software, signal processing, semiconductor and display manufacture, avionics and instrumentation.
